London, 14 August 2008 - GFT Technologies AG (GFT), a leading international provider of IT services to the financial sector, has today reached the CMMI®’s third level of process maturity and appointed a Chief Quality Officer, as part of its ongoing quality improvement strategy. GFT’s Global Delivery Units have been awarded the certification in recognition of its current achievements and commitment to generating consistent quality of service. The certification is supported by the company’s appointment of its first Chief Quality Officer, Manuel Urban, with Group-wide responsibilities.
GFT’s process of internationalisation created the increased demand for integrated quality of methodology across all of the company’s projects. As the company expanded across Europe and globally in the early part of the decade, it also began its CMMI® accreditation process; GFT Iberia achieved CMM Level II in December 2003 after seven months, the shortest time ever. Today, GFT’s Global Delivery Units in the Services Division have been recognised, by the internationally regarded CMMI®, as having reached the third level of process maturity.
Underlining GFT’s commitment to developing its quality maturity, its first Chief Quality Officer has a mission to ensure that the cornerstones of GFT’s Global Delivery Model are adhered to across the company. Manuel Urban commented, “With the rest of the team at the GFT Quality Office, we will be ensuring that each project at our development locations worldwide, can offer its clients the benefits of our common development methodology, globalised services network and maturity model of process improvement”.
This approach has already resulted in benefits for GFT’s clients. Marika Lulay, Member of the GFT Executive Board, commented “many of our projects are delivered by our teams in Spain and Brazil, along with their UK counterparts. It is therefore vital for us to have a recognised, mature and standardised methodology, which focuses on generating consistent quality of service. The Level 3 certification offers our clients increased visibility into the workings of the project and confidence in the quality of the outcome, regardless of where in the world the work takes place”.
